Fairmile "D" MTB 1:24 1460mm Construction
« on: Yesterday at 04:38 »
Hi folks from Australia  ^^^
After scratch building a number of my 1:72 scale warships, this will be my first Deans Marine kit and by far the largest scale I've ever built in.
Dealing with the side effects of recent Radiation treatments so this will be a long(ish) term build.

Yesterday I actually began the build, as per the instructions by washing and sanding down the HUGE hull.
Today though I made a start on the keel (still going...) and cutting out the port holes.
More later............ time for a nap...

Laid down the plywood keel after my nap and need to leave it overnight for the epoxy to set.
Tomorrow I'll start shaping, filling and sealing the plywood.

So, the plywood keel is epoxied in place and filling and sanding are almost done.
Tomorrow I should be able to start cutting away the excess fibreglass along the top of the hull.
