H.M.S KENT. Hull details This is a scale hull, moulded in heavy fibreglass with a length of 56,1/2" and a beam of 8". It is fully plated showing all details of barbettes, ports anchors, gangways and ash shoots. Whilst the hull is from Admiralty drawings a full set of plans is available from Nexus plans.

SCALE 1/96 THE HISTORY. One of a class of ten ships all completed 1903-1904. With a L.O.A. of 460ft on a dispacement of 9,800 tons, her triple expansion engines of 22,000 H.P. gave a speed of 23 knots. All the class were armed with 14 x 6" guns and 13 x 2pd guns. Kent was present at the first battle of the Falklands in 1914 and after a long chase sank the German cruiser "Nurnberg" which was part of Graf von Spee's Asiatic squadron. 1915 saw Kent serving in the pacific, 1918 on the China station and in 1919 guard ship at Vladivostok. Kent was sold out of service in 1920 at Hong Kong.
