BECC flags and lettering
« on: Wednesday | 08. June 2016 | 09:56 hrs »
As BECC flags and lettering have now closed down due to retirement.
Has anyone a source of Vinyl lettering for WW2 R.N. pennant numbers ?
(Plain black - no white background- square font ). Standard arial font vinyl
lettering is available but the square font for pennant numbers isn't.
BECC used to provide a custom lettering service where they would produce
WW2 RN pennant numbers to customers requirements. Modelling outlets still
hold the BECC stock but the custom service stopped when BECC closed down.
Does anyone know the font style name of the Pennant numbers ?
Perhaps then a provider could be found.

We at Deans Marine have a vinyl cutting machines for the decals in our kits, supply us with the letter style and I will ask the cutting dept if they can do short runs. It has been done before for one off customer such as shipping and museum models so it a possibility. As I understand the R N letter styles depended on the templates held by each yard and they were all slightly different.
 Hope it helps
Regards

Contrary to remours seen here we are still going strong and have no plans to retire any time soon!! I think there is some confusion that one of our bigger online stockist Brian at ModelFlags.com has retired.

Thanks for the information. I was also a costumer of the model flags shop. On their website you find links to other dealers of the BECC stuff. BECC flags are the best I know. :)

Nice to hear BECC isn't shutting down got loads of their letting and depth marks. Just that at Barry's letter  another good supplier  there seems to be a hiccup till his daughter gets things up and running.
Just what I hear on the net.
