Hello DickyD!

First of all congratulations on your nice model - very well done!

I also spent some time on the web site of your club and was impressed by the activities of the club. I am member of a club in Germany but we do not reach that level by far ::)

Hi Dicky,

I love the look of your model in the water!  You've got to get together with Robin and sail as a fleet!  That would make a great picture!

Thank you for sharing.  Wonderful model!

Hi Oliver,
A nice idea but I guess I am about 150 miles away from DickyD. Probably would not work anyway. I often find that when one sails with other boaters there is very little interaction apart from ovoiding collisions. On the odd occasion I have tried a bit of formation sailing with another warship the other boater tends to panic and sheer off! I think there is one event over here that does go in for sailing warships as groups in tasks but can't recall where.
Robin
PS Got that deck on yet? :smiley1:

150 miles !!!!!! wow i did 200 each way the other day with a set of triples  :grin1:  anyway.... the guys in the san fran club (the other Kurt) were into formation sailing and from what it looks like
it hones your skills as a skipper, they dident get very close but were turning together which
requires good comunication.  It does look fun.  Robin if you can remember the event and just happen to find some pics please post :)

Just completed a 1:72 Flower class corvette Colin and have just received a HMAS Armidale hull and drawings from one of the chaps on the Task Force 72 club in Australia.
My wife is telling me I have to slow up as she reckons 19 built and 1 more to do is stretching her bank balance a bit.

i know the feeling Dicky...

trying to keep peace with the other half is always one of the modelbuilders problems..

lucky i have one that sails what i build, and i had to Build the SS Furie for her.

Very impressive DickyD, looks really good on the water. On the  subject of wives and model boating I agree with Colin - its a lot easier if the other half sails as well. My wife sails one of my boats at regattas and on occasions gets the better of me :'(

Dicky,

Beautiful model!  Thanks for sharing!
My favorite quote was "My wife is telling me I have to slow up as she reckons 19 built and 1 more to do is stretching her bank balance a bit.".

Happy Building and Sailing,
Oliver
