Epic menorca build
« on: 12 February 2021, 13:18:23 »
excellent kit pleasure to build, the laser cutting is spot on.
my only problem was the coil of wire provided for the handrailing it would have been better to supply straight lengths of wire in the kit,i ended up using 0.45mm dia brass wire i can give supplier details if asked

Photos have been attached, regards Colin

the coil of brass wire for the rails…!!
I am not too sure if you realize that the firms that produce straight lengths come from a rather large coil/drum of brass wire…
this coil can be straightened, trap one end in a vice that should be attached to something solid, wrap the other end in a pair of long nose pliers and pull with all your weight, hey presto, a straight piece of wire ^^^

I am fully aware of the production process for wire, bit not only did require straightening but also wanted stretching down to the correct diameter as per instructions from you technical dept, this would likely have caused what is known as necking just prior to breaking.

Brian , that's a great build, I'm currently building Amethsyt and will probably finish her shortly but fancy something different and Menorca looks if she would fit the build ^^^. How long did it take you to complete?
