Mr. Gray from Canada, has sent us some Photo's of his Bild, based on our model of HMS Compass Rose
Reading about the sinking of the Spikenard, there was a merchant marine style raft on board and there were gas drums lashed to the base of the mast. My model has incorporated these additions.
Spikenard, being one of the earliest corvettes launched, had a short forecastle and the superstructure was quite different than that of the kit of Compass Rose. You will note several other differences between the two ships. I see the advantages of making a model from Deans Marine because the modeller can adjust the model into what a particular ship of that class looked like at some instant of time.
