Details of supply ship the ?Mercia service? ex ?Cumbria service?
Owner Tidewater comp. Homeport Dubai. Still in service

My name is Alfred Maes and live in Belgium in the city of Antwerp. I make model boats since 1965, and I am
the chairman of the RSMB modellers club in our city. www.rsmb.be
This model is made on a Dean?s Marine hull together with an accomodationplan on 3/32? to 1feet.
It is not so easy, for some one who is working most of the time in metric measures. I can tell that this model is
completed made with a calculator next to me.
All the parts are made in polystyrene, except the funnels and the decks who are made in balsa and plywood
of 3.5mm. The working deck has a wood inlay of all separated strips.  2 brass tubes of 8mm are the bases for the cargo rails. The bulwark is made of special strips sold by Robbe. The big winch on the rear deck is made of 2 tugger winches of Graupner
I have powered the ship by 2 12v vent motors of ford and fixed 2 x55 mm 3 blades propellers in steering kortnozzels. She is running on 6 volt now, because she is too much overpowered
It is a beautiful hull to work with and also marvelous to drive with.
