Topic: Dimarcha build - advice on electrics

Hi All, I am just starting the build of a Dimarcha kit I picked up recently and looking for advice from anyone who has built one.  I have 2 Kestral motors that came with the kit and I was thinking of using the 4 bladed white metal props that came with the kit unless this isn't a good idea.  The kit recomends using double joint couplings, is this necessary?  I have 2 Huco couplings, if I need to go to double joint I can get 2 more and join with a doubler insert between them.  What have others done?

I have ordered 2 Hobbywing 1060 RTR 60amp ESCs which I intend to run with a Y lead from the receiver but that will give me the option to add a throttle/rudder control unit if I want at a later date. 

With regards to batteries, I am going with 7.2v ni-mh 3300mah batteries, would you recomend one or two batteries?

 Change the props to 35mm brass 3 blade props 146 or 162 type
 always use a d/j coupling that is why its suggested, do not spoil a boat to save £3-/ 5
 do not use a Y lead either one ESC to drive both motors or independent esc/ battery for each motor do not mix it up.
6v Nimh is fine do not overpower a displacement hull it will become a pig to drive. and waste power,

Thanks for the reply.  I will go with 1 battery and 1 ESC with the motors wired in parallel to start with and see how I get on.  I will also get a couple of 3 bladed propellors, 1 right hand and 1 left hand and use double jointed couplings
