Hello everyone, I am new to this, as a trainmoddeler, I thought it is now the time to extend my scale model expiriences. By buing a kit from deans marine. As it is now during lockdown very complicated to meet new fellow interests, I decided to enroll, here, because on facebook they told me that here are the guy's with the most knowledge, and apart from that the best kit's who fit my criteria of purchase. (Japanese destroyer, british destroyer or british light cruiser, approximately 1meter in lenght) As a swiss, sorry about any spelling errors, english isn't my mother tongue, even when my girlfriend say's that my humor is definitely british.

Train modeling, would that be HO or smaller.. or for that matter larger..
1.96 is not that far of 1.87..

I am not really into the gray fleet, but.. I don't think you will find many warships that are about 1 meter long.. apart from..

No, Sir, must be someone else.
The difference in Scale is not what gives me a massive headache.
It is the driveing unit, I never done that before and I am a bit scared, hope I don't crew it up.
I thought because of a very generous mood of my lady, regarding the space to push my luck a bit further, by 14 Centimeters to be precisely. I ordered HMS Sentinel. Shure it will be an eyecatcher at the lake. Hope it won't take years for the company to ship or for me to build.

Hi Eric – I am in the process of building the Deans Marine HMS Cossack, and am nearing completion. I started this build when l was made redundant nearly 3 years ago and have enjoyed the kit immensely. It has taken a long time because it is the first build of this type of kit for me, and along the way l have added additional detail using items from both Deans and other suppliers. I also purchased plenty of reference material. Good luck with your build, l look forward to following you progress.

HMS Sentinel, is a beautiful ship, it's probably one that I would build, and keeping her in the Victorian colours, although a lot of modelers would say that she should be painted gray..
Regarding the drive unit, she is twin propellered with a single rudder, so I would advise you to get mixing unit, to aid in the turning circle..
See any of my builds for installing the drive unit..

A further questionthe victorian color sheme where do I find it? On most pictures it is grey or a black and white picture. Is there a standartised painttone for a victorian sheme?

The yellow, could be a little lighter, more of a beige...

Hi all,

well good news, the delivery works perfect, everything came in. So far so good. But may I ask did you guys got any kind of step by step building instructions.

Guys seriously? I am a nooby newboy. I was hopelessly overwhelmed by the sheer size of the boat. The hull is partially damaged, on the cheek and under the steering, nothing which could not be fixed.
This ship is a lot more complicated than I thought, but challenge accepted.
I'll keep you up to date. Maybee someone can support me with the picture of part no. 1. Number 2 is the hull and how to fit number three in well, I guess I'll figure out.

The step by step building instructions should have come with the kit..!

As I have not built this model yet, I can only guess or presume..

The first photo, I can see a hole in the gelcote, this I would fill with any fine car body filler or repair kit..

The second photo, I would say that the thick lines need to be sanded back too, plus any mould marks along the centreline of the hull..

This should all be in the instructions, showing you to mark the line with a pencil or felt tip to highlight them, so it's easier to see were you need to sand back..

Hi guys

Erm does anyone of you already made this bugger?
I am just curious and wondering a few things.
First things first.
There is still no sign of a piece no.1, the hull is number 2.
Secondly I am not really that confident in making new things.
I will be probably laughing in a few years but, the pieces look like the won't be able to fit anywhere. In the gf hull are only the markings for the propulsion a bit indicated, on the outside. Inside are no marks nor signs, for example where to place the powerpack. And due to corona lock down well all stores are closed.

Some pictures which would had been made during the assembling would had been helpful. The cd shows only both colouring sheme on the fully built model.
