Deans marine on a windy day at the lake
« on: 23 November 2025, 15:14:48 »
Hi
Another refurb of the older models in the showroom, this one is approx 18 years old. Old 27mg radio changed to 2.4ghz  bobs boards and motors left as original stripped out and new Nimh batteries,  original kyte motors.
We spent a lot of time getting the balance spot on and motors fitted in cradles with foam pads to insulate from the hull, Double couplings, Tested on a cold and very windy days. also to windy to sail a small model, but we come this far hope for the sun to come out but stayed breezy she handled a treat just as the sun was setting.
Model is  1/48th scale, length 580mm  beam 185mm running on 2 kyte  motors on 6 volt nimh Now for some strong boating coffee ( a good dash of coffee liquor in it for anti freeze purposes can be seen here on you tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03vrZQt2xRk
Regards
 Ron
