Description: This ship was built by Mr Bob Patey of the Wirrel Merseyside.
This was my first attempt at a model ship, and I chose the City of Ely as I served on her for some of my time at sea.
I have added some extra detail to the kit such as cover over the lifeboats and more rigging on the derricks all from memory and from a few pictures I have taken on board.
I an please that they got the split rudder correct on the model as not many people knew about this design feature on the full size ship.
I believe that an article I published in Sea Breezes about on of my trips on the Ely is now being in included in the instructions.
