Some of the superstructure parts have been built and they look fairly well put together, unfortunately the woodwork installed in the hull has been put flush with the top edge it should be 1mm lower to allow for the deck, so that's coming out as are the motor mounts and the white metal tiller, also the grey bulkhead as it's way to wide.
It turns out the kit is from 1983 so about time it got finished.

« Last Post by Alan329 on Thursday | 28. May 2026 | 18:59 hrs »First sea trial 3 weeks after starting work on the Tantaside. Very pleased with how it sailed. Plenty fast enough on 2 x MFA385 with 7.2v ni-mh battery and single ESC. Very manouverable and quite stable. It has 250gm of ballast added and is riding a little high but there is lots of fittings, etc., to add. Time to start painting and finishing it off.

He enjoys building the kit very much and has made good progress already. He made a first test run with a 40 mm handmade prop but that was too much for the model. He now has fitted a more suitable, smaller one which will be tested soon.
Importing the kit from the UK to Germany was no problem. It took less than a week including a visit to the German Customs authorities until it arrived safe and sound.
