Sailed her today for her second outing and a lovely pleasant sail, stable and no vices. Whoever suggested that this craft and Julie M were unstable needs to give their head a wobble!

our OPEN DAYS this year, The dates for 2026 are 4th-5th September.
Opening times are 10am - 4pm. Friday & Saturday.
We will have on display models from our range in the showroom and shop plus our newest releases for 2026
plus the start of our 3D printed fittings range.
Club stands and Traders are welcome, drop us a mail if you plan to attend and we will arrange space.
Our test pond will be free to use for sailing.
We hope this is of interest and we look forward to seeing new modellers and our regular visitors and newcomers to the hobby.

sorry to say that i do not know what Radio gear is allowed to be used in the USA..!
but if 72 mhz or 40 Mhz is allowed then either would be suitable, of course you can use the newer 2.4ghz sets
a case of personal choice and what you already have to hand..
the advantage of lipo's they are lighter, so you could go for a higher ampers for a longer driving on the pond time..
ESC is also a personal choice thing, a rule of thumb, make sure that the amps drawn from the motor that the ESC can cope with it..
it also comes down to weather brushed or brushles motors will be used..
recomendation for the kit are here:
U.S.S. KIDD
motor: KONDOR 2
coupling: 2.3 /M4 EXL nycrome x 2
ESC: 2 x 10amp
prop 162-13 + 14
bat 2 x 6v

Should I use 72 mhz or the newer 2.4ghz reciever and transmitter (USA)? Batteries nicad vs lipo ? ESC recomendation.
Most of the info I can find on youtube seems to be older.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Some of the superstructure parts have been built and they look fairly well put together, unfortunately the woodwork installed in the hull has been put flush with the top edge it should be 1mm lower to allow for the deck, so that's coming out as are the motor mounts and the white metal tiller, also the grey bulkhead as it's way to wide.
It turns out the kit is from 1983 so about time it got finished.
