Description: The Imperial Transport model was built by Mr B Bateman of Barrow in Furness, Cumbria. Based on the semi-kit of the ship.
The model is fitted with a kestral motor driving a brass propellor through an Olympus Marine belt drive unit.
The power is supplied by 4 x 6volt 10 A.H sealed lead acid batteries fitted under the bridge.
A bow thruster powered by is own battery is fitted to the model to aid steering in competitions, but the model is surprisingly manoeuvrable for such a large ship. The model of the ship is based on her wartime period when she was painted light sea grey
