Title: Victoria & Albert
Post by: klz on 12 September 2017, 22:48:13
I am thinking about trying a steam launch and this Victoria & Albert looks like a good place to start. I have googled and searched the net but cannot find anymore info other than in the model description ... as anyone built this what skill level is needed to build it, I would say Im an advanced beginner  :) the only photo of this again is the one in the description.  I believe Mr Dean used to sail one of these a few years back does he have any photos of it under steam. Any help greatly appreciated.

I am hoping to make a decision soon as I would like to add a steam launch to my Christmas list.

Hi,
i have not built this one, but i would imagine it is going to be rather straight Forward to build..!
propshafts and rudder are much the same installation in most models..
from the description of the Kit, you get a fiberglass deck, so bonding the hull and deck together should be a doddle..!
just remains the choice of glue to fix the wooden deck to the fiberglass deck.. !!

just out a matter of interest..!  you do realise that this is type of ships boat (like for example "steam Pinnace") that was on the Royal yacht Victoria & Albert II

for example...

Thank you for your reply Colin, I do realise what type of boat it is I would really like a river queen by vic  smeed but that build is beyond me at the mo so I am looking for something similar that is all open to show off the steam plant.
