« on: 19 June 2015, 19:00:53 »
Hi Guys
Here is a pic of my humble effort first one
not Zulu anymore but Eskimo got a bit left to do
but nearly there
not as good as Joes but
I live in a disability bungalow and have no  bath so I bought a paddling pool for
use as a wet dock got her balasted apart from the batteries took nearly 4 lb of lead( you were right it did surprise me.
I am happy with her, eyes are not as good as they were 20 years ago.

regards
tolly

Very nice Tolly, nice looking build and paintwork.

Have you taken her out for a spin yet?

Hi Anatole3 I'm just about to order myself a Zulu or Nubian, to make The Eskimo, as my brother served on her in the 70's, a Stoker Vincent "Jim" Lord we only live in Harwich, so not a million miles from you   ^^^ I hope mine turns out as good. Cheers Dan.

Hi,
Small world, my brother Peter Holloway served with your brother "Jim" on Eskimo back in the 70's.
Peter remembers him well. Happy days as a Chatham based ship, he says.
Regards
Pauline

Hi Pauline, yes my brother says he enjoyed his time on her & at Chatham, we went back for a visit a while back & found the Eskimo's name plaque, all that's left of her now  :'( I'll mention your brother to him. Best regards Dan
