4.7" gun firing in May
« on: 12 February 2015, 12:21:30 »
Hi,
If anyone wants to see a Royal Navy 4.7" gun firing.
My team will be firing the 4.7" gun from a WW2 Z class destroyer at Explosion museum in Gosport on Monday MAY 4TH
(this is bank holiday) we'll fire three rounds every half hour from 1000 to 1700. This is the largest 20thC RN gun
still firing in the world today. (anything else is fired with electric pyros and not explosives in a cartridge ).
We'll also be showing the working of the gun and the drill carried out when engaging a surface target.
Entry is free.
