These are the pics of my finished MA. I left out the swimming pool on the upper deck because in all of the photos when it was the MA it had been removed. Thank you Deans for another great kit!!! On To my next build the Maersk Trein.

After about 5 years I have finally finished my version of the MA. I wanted to see how it would sit in the water after finishing the last of the fittings. The wind was blowing way to hard to go to the local pond so I made a make shift test tank. Without any weight added it sits perfect from port to starboard but was little down in the bow by about 3mm. So I added weight to one of the trailers that will sit on her deck to compensate for that. Cant wait to get it out on open water.

Started to work on the last of the fittings. Working on the life boats had them built and ready for primer when looking at some photos of the original ship I notice it had open life boats instead of the newer style the kit came with. So I decided to go with the open style. Think they turned out ok.

Hey Arno great to hear from you. It was quit the task wiring all of these up. The hard part was making sure I did not get glue all over the place. In order to reduce that I predrilled holes for each light to run the wires through which also help to line them up. As for the flood lights Robin the were made from styrene and shaped then I made a mold from that. The mold allowed me to cast them with clear resin with the leds inside of it so it comes out in one piece ready for paint. Once painted I test them one more time before installing them. There is nothing worse than installing a light only to find out that its not working and having to redo it.

Hi Dennis, good to see you back. The lighting looks very realistic. ^^^ :) How did you wire up all those leds without making a mess?

On the lighting I used over 50 leds. The main and running lights are 6 volt and the flood lights are wired for 12 volts.

Hello everyone it has been a while that I have been able to work on the MA. Now that I have a little time I started on some more of the fittings. As I was going through them I realized that the cranes that go rear of the superstructure was missing. So I decided to billed them from scratch. Here are a few pics of the cranes. Also was able to finish molding all the leds and install all the lighting. This thing is sure to light up the whole pond. ::DD
