                                          SCALE SPEED       by          DEANS MARINE
As model makers become more expert, modern methods and materials enable him/her to achieve exhibition standards in a working model, thus the desire to operate at a scale speed becomes more pressing.
Whilst it is perfectly acceptable to go as slow as you like, to exceed the scale speed of the prototype detracts from all your skill and hard work.
We have worked out a selection of scale speeds to satisfy your concern and to settle the age old question by the "experts" that (they did not go that fast"?) or "that is  not scale speed"?.
For your interest the formula is,
True scale speed equals the square root of the scale, times the full size speed..
THE FIGURE SHOWN ARE FOR EXAMPLE ONLY. THEY MAY NOT BE THE SCALE OF YOUR MODEL.
             At a scale of 1/8th" = 1ft  .. 1/96 scale.
