I am now using brushed motors in my tug boat using a 6 volt jell cell battery and am happy with this .       
 thinking that its time to up grade thoughts please.
  ps all my boats are 48 and 55 plus inchs

if it works, leave them alone
no great benefit from changing to Brushless motors in heavy boats, just expense

would you mind please what is the make of your motor for your tug boat and the voltgage plus the make of the esc and servo as I will be building a clyde puffer and would find this helpful if you can help
