Hi Very nice work indeed, the paint finished on these small parts is excellent, I find it very hard to keep the paint fine enough,
keep up the good work, a joy to see.

Hi Ron;
Thanks a lot for your high compliment and encouragement as well for my love of HMS Fencer 1/96.
She has beeen working very well not only as an object on the shelf to appreciate her appearance
,but also sailing stably even on the large lake.!! ::DD
More improvement is now under study to make her more attractive and stable as a RC working model ship
on the water, as much better than as seen in the following video. ;D

Re: HMS Fencer's life rafts installed
« Reply #182 on: 11 April 2020, 02:03:25 »
Hi all the RC model ship captains;

It was one of the easiest to work with these life rafts as they needed just to paint actually
 and to install around the hull as shown below,just like what I call"plastics models".! ;D

Re: HMS Fencer's main mast under assembly
« Reply #183 on: 14 April 2020, 12:47:29 »
Hi all the RC model ship captains;
These are the pics of a main mast under assembly using mainly brass etched parts
furnished in the kit.As you may imagine from the pics,these parts are sooo small  that the builders have to be patient with the assemly works. :D 8)
1;Starting from these tiny parts,,,very delicate,,,
2;The assembly took delicacy to lead to a good result,,,
3;idem
4;A plastics platform was put on ,,,
5;The works went on
6;And on,,
7;And on again as well as patience went on ..

Re: HMS Fencer's main mast built by CA
« Reply #184 on: 29 April 2020, 07:59:43 »
Hi all the RC ship captains;
I built all of  these assemlies only with CA ,not soldering which was sooo difficult for me
to form precise shapes  as in the plan.  8)
To make the matter worse.there is only one chance to be able to work the parts in soldering.
which will mostly never allow me to re-work on the same positions.
CA gave me the second or third chance for re-working. ::DD
Bonding strength must be ,of course ,stronger for soldering , but CA made a good job
for these assmblies of delicate parts.

Re: HMS Fencer in last May
« Reply #185 on: 09 May 2020, 11:37:28 »
Hi all the RC ship captains;
She was sailing on my local lake for a trial run after fully completed in last May, as seen below.
But,she is still sleeping on her shelf for a long time since last October
when two gigantic typhoons invaded our country with a huge amount of rain by which
my local  lake was completely flooded so heavily and recovered in last February.
But this May...as you may easily imagine,the lake was shut down since  last April and
 prohibited the access by people against new corona virus. 8) >:(
I wonder when to come for a happy sailing time for HMS Fencer as seen below..?
1;HMS Fencer at anchor
2;Anchors aweigh !!
3;Leaving a wake
4;Straight forward !!
5;Hard starboard !!
6;The lake flooded heavily in last October by typhoons 8)
Stay home for safety ! :-X

Hi Kyoshi,
on the first photo she looks so realistic, wonderful.
Take care of yourself, the time will come when you can sail again. Same over here in Germany, by the way.
Kind regards
Arno

Hi Arno;
Thanks a lot for your kind  comment.
It's a high season around  May in Japan for sailing in a sense,not too hot nor cold..
I will wait for the time to come even if it may be long,as I waited for 12 years including
many interval periods to complete the HMS  Fencer. ;D

Hi all the RC ship captains;

I used fairly normal putty to fill the gaps come up at many parts around the hull and so on.
1/2;The parts filled with normal putty...attention to the hull sides
3/4;Painted with wood color
5/6;The parts approaching final assembly

Re: HMS Fencer required a bamboo tweezers
« Reply #189 on: 22 May 2020, 11:01:53 »
Hi all the RC ship captains;
There were many etching parts for HMS Fencer,most of which were very small so that
it was very troublesome to assemble them  precisely as in the plans.
In these cases,the bamboo tweezers were helpful to hold the parts securely other than the metal
tweezers.
1;The etching parts for HMS Fencer
2;Parts for AA rader to be set on the main mast
3/4;The rader assembled with the bamboo tweezers
5;Tweezers I used for the HMS Fencer, but mostly bamboo one was almighty.! :D
6;The rader installed on the mast

Re: HMS Fencer?getting into high season !
« Reply #190 on: 27 May 2020, 06:34:27 »
Hi all the RC ship captains;
It is getting into high season here in Japan for model boat sailing regarding not only
weather conditions, but also anti-corona virus improvement conditions,as our government
recently announced the release from the Emergency conditions statement.
The statement is expected to permit going outside  partly and gradually with a little conditions
in the very near future.
The photos are HMS Fencer "in operation" flying the White ensign proudly on the water ;D :D :o

Re: HMS Fencer's handmade observation binoculars
« Reply #191 on: 02 June 2020, 08:56:44 »
Hi all the RC ship captains;

I made two sets of anti-air and surface observation binocularts to be installed on the fore cat walks
as they were shown in the plan.
They were too small to make by my hands and eyes. 8) :(
1;Binoculars made and installed on the cat walk. attention to the shadow observer who was put
   to check the pose if he looked real for the location later.
2;But he was not appointed to be an official observer due to the pose.! :D ;D
Another man was appointed instead as in the photo. ::DD
3/4;Binoculars and an observer of the starboard
5/6;The binoculars on the bridge were kit-furnished ones.

Hi all the RC ship captains;
Here you see today are photos of a SK radar mast.
1/2;Built from etching parts
3/4;Painted and installed on a mast
5/6/7;The SK radar mast installed on a fore starboard
Comparatively easy simple job for the etching parts assemblies for HMS Fencer. :grin1:

Re: HMS Fencer over the waves
« Reply #194 on: 12 June 2020, 11:51:47 »
Hi all the RC ship captains;
Here you see today is the photo story entitled "over the waves to Gibraltar." ;D
1;After weighing the anchor,she left the assembly point silently leaving a wake at dusk.
2;In the background is Greenock where she embarked 14 Sea fire fighters.
3;She was just sailing on the Clyde river.
4;Early in the next morning,she was already sailing off the Bay of  Biscay.
5;She was approaching Gibraltar in some kilometers and also found by an enemy scout plane
   as seen clearly in the image unfortunately,,, ;D :grin1:
Please enjoy above poor story!! :wink1: :)
