Re: HMS Fencer operated by busy deck crews
« Reply #135 on: 20 December 2019, 08:45:07 »
Hi all the RC model ship captains;
Currently my HMS Fencer is operated by very few deck crews due to a shortage of personnels. :-X
That's why even a navig ation officer has to operate a deck vehicle,to make the matter worse,
Japanese zero fighter pilots and deck crews are in service. >:D
Very contradictive scenes are seen aboard the ship. :-X
1;Even an officer is operating the deck vehicle... :o
2;Something contradictory...Japanese crew is working,,, >:D
   BUt he will be replaced with genuine RN crew in the near futue.! ;)
3/4/5;Zero fighter pilots are waiting for their planes to be ready for take-off. :grin1:

Please enjoy contradictory scenes aboard the ship for fun.

Hi
 Split rudder is not faulty or bad casting they were fitted with a split rudder to reduce drag on long voyages, welded together and filled with concrete for speed of construction.
Pics of the real one prove it from the build c/d

Hi
I understood why this rudder shape was born.
In the beginning,I also had a strange impression about the shape but
at the same time I thought it would be intended for a specific purpose or effect.

Re: HMS Fencer served by 30 RN sailors soon
« Reply #138 on: 22 December 2019, 11:09:38 »
Hi all the RC model ship captains;
They have come here at last for service aboard to replace foreign crews now on the flight deck.
But they are not formerly dressed up as genuine WW2 RN sailors yet at this time.! :-X
It will need more time to study their uniform colors as they were in those days. :-\
1;They came up here kept securely in the cell like space for prisoners. ::DD
2;one gunner ?just released.
3/4;personnels in charge for weapons?
5;deck crews?
6;whole crews to serve on the HMS Fencer , totalling to 30 men.
7;They were safely released from the cells. :D
They are basically 19mm tall at 1/96.

Where did you get the crew from?

Thanks for showing a picture of the real rudder.. Here I was thinking it was a bad casting.. It is good to know the casting was correct.

Hi Tjorven;

Thank you so much for a kind comment with a compliment on my posting.! ::DD
I would like you to upload your model ship under building,as I am afraid that my
postings on HMS Fencer may have bored the visitors here to death?? :-\ :) :-X

As for the sailor figures,I ordered from Shapeways in the Netherlands.
I had them in 5 days here in Japan after placing the order.!!! :D ^^^
I hope this helps your need to build a fantastic model ship.!!

Yeah I know shapeways. Ordered all my armament on that website (either self-designed or bought from a store) but I haven't able to find figures 1/96 scale. Can you link me them?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Tjorven;
Please refer to the following website.
Next, go to " figurines" and then select "soldiers" ....
you will soon find many kinds of scale figures ! :grin1:

Hi all the RC model ship captains;
Shadow but transparent RN sailors are operating some armaments aboard HMS Fencer. ;D
1/2;They stand for working poses respectively.
3/4/5/6//7;Transparent sailors are operating the armaments.... ;D

These 30 sailors are supposed to serve formally here aboard the HMS Fencer
in the very near future.!! :-[

Re: HMS Fencer adopted a small but useful idea!
« Reply #145 on: 27 December 2019, 07:49:42 »
Hi all the RC model ship captains;
 That is,to put it simply,to make the structures detachable for easy transportation,
 storage, handling, modification,improvement and repair of a model ship.
Take my HMS Fencer for instance.
The main mast and SK radar antenna have been made detachable as they are
so delicate and tall  that they are usually detachaed from the base structure to avoid some damage by careless touch. ;)

Re: HMS Fencer's lattice mast is also detachable
« Reply #146 on: 29 December 2019, 02:50:00 »
Hi all the RC model ship captains;
Two stepped detachable style was adopted for the whole mast on the bridge.
This was done in order to clear some possible hight or space limitation of the storage or transportation.
As she has been built as a RC working model ship for practical sailing on the water throughout
a year, this kind of detachable style of structure is much useful for me. :grin1:
If necessary.even a whole bridge could be detached from the deck-side by removing a tiny screw.

Re: HMS Fencer's safety net damage restored
« Reply #147 on: 31 December 2019, 02:04:51 »
Hi all the RC model ship captains;
It's the New Year's Eve today, thus this will be the very final post for this year for me.
I found a tiny damage at the safety net recently when checking the hull as she made
many sailings this year, for which she was obliged to carry out of my hobby room to the
sailing spot 11kms away. 8)
The damage may supposedly have been caused during such activities,like touching something..

Have a Happy New Year to all far from Japan with many thanks! ::DD

 Hi all the RC model ship captains;
A Happy New Year to you and wish you a happy modelling of the RC ships
and their sailings on the water.  :grin1:
My first post for this year is the introduction of a first group of 15 genuine RN sailors to be engaged in
 my HMS Fencer from this month.

They stand in a row politely as it is the very first debut! ::DD
