Hi Ron;
I have understood the historical background of the waterline set along the hull.
The U boats were so terrific threat to RN ships to such an extent that even
water lines had to be disguised ingeniously....

Hi Pegasus;

Thank you for your kind advice,useful information and the encouragement.
Everything on my committing to the sailing quality will be made clear after
coming April through late May during when several tests will be done.
Even now I am satisfied 85 % with the present sailing quality.
I am intending to make it over 90% which is the qualified level for me. :D :grin1:

 Looking better every time I see your work, as an aside the camouflage on ships in the time went below the waterline, there was no fixed demarcation as the black line or colour change gave  a way of measuring distance to a U Boat so sailing with the camo scheme in the water is correct  you may be sailing light anyway

It is difficult to get the ballast correct all the calculations go to pot once you start adding topweight like armament this is more pronounced in Carriers with the island and armament overhanging the hull. It is a fine line to get it correct, however you will succeed no doubt about that. Look forward to you final results.

Hi Pegasus;
Thank you again for your useful information on balancing method.
I used 4 Lead acid batteries in the very beginning after completion for a trial run
,three were just for ballast and  :(the result was terrible on the water. :(
The cause was found to be high CG(center of gravity) due to the height of the batteries.(12V7Ah)
After the intensive study of this point,I finally came to rely on the lead ingot as shown below of about 10kgs in 4 pieces.The result was seen in my previous video. ::DD  A large improvement of anti-rolling could actually be seen even when steering on the lake where was blown frequently by the wind. :grin1: :(
It was the very first for me to build a comparatively large RC ship like this carrier and
this was a merchant ship modified carrier that hull sides were rather high flat top by which securing a good stability became difficult to do.
As you know,flat top has normally top heavy tendency ... :(
But from coming April,some kind of progress is expected using a Lipo battery or a lighter 2.2Ah sealed battery in exchange for a big sealed battery now in use. :grin1:

4;Present configuration of the ballasts
5;These were set like this on the floor which level was about 5cm below the water line.The thickness of the lead ingot is about 2cm.
6/7;Improved water line 5mm above the planned line in the video and from April I intend to lower 5mm down or so... close to the planned line.!!??? ::) :(

I have found when ballasting I like to start by placing sheet lead at the stern and at the bow keeping it as low to the keel as possible. Then finally placing it midships at the final build. I do this by leaving a hollow space below the battery box. Are you using the lead acid batteries our club uses these now as weights when gluing. By using lipo or nimh and again keeping them as low to the keel this should help reduce roll.

A great thanks for your favorable comment.
But the actual movements are not so good as seen in the video... :-\ :'(
It's a fact that she "behaves"much better than ever before,but some times
she behaves like a tomboy on the water.
In this sense,I am seeking for the good stability always on the water fundamentally.
I have a good idea to improve better stability by replacing with more lead ingot
than heavy sealed battery. The ratio between lead ingot and sealed battery will be
adjusted from coming April by which I expect final goal will come into my hands,since
this is the last I can do to get the goal. :grin1: No more idea except the above...

Looking at the video I think you have got the ballast as best you can have with a 1/96 scale. I have found the larger scale normally sail better my 1/35 scale S boats have little roll even at speed where as my 1/72 flower class does ( the actual Flower Class rolled badly). You have created an excellent model that not only looks good but sails well.

Seeking for the best stability as an operational RC aircraft carrier model,coming April
will be a new starting point to get the literally completion level as I am expecting her to do it.....I wonder when she could successfully get to the point which I think final and goal of this build,since a good sailing quality is a part of "the build" in my thought..? ;D ::DD
Unless this is accomplished,improvement for the quality may continue...as this is intended as a RC operational model for sailing regularly once or twice a month in my plan from the beginning.
I addition,my local sailing lake is so large for her,stability in many meanings is
indispensable. :)

Hi all;
I found this trolley on the internet and soon bought for my HMS Fencer.
The size and structure seemed to be just Ok for my image as the transport trolley
to carry the ship to the shore safely.
Of course, some modifications and reinforcement might be necessary to make
it available as an adequate transporter for practically routine use.
A handle and some frames are detachable and max length is about 135cm made of
aluminum.
1/2;new trolley to be modified for use of the transporter.
3/4/5/6;HMS Fencer temporarily loaded on the trolley.
7;present transporter is too noisy! :'( >:D
