MV Imperial Transport

Hi everyone

Before my recent detachment to the Falklands I bought the Mould Dean range hull of the Imperial Transport from Ron. Upon my return I continued my build of this unlucky or lucky ship depending on your point of view!

For anyone who is unaware of this ship, she was a heavy oil tanker built before WW2, in 1940 whilst en route to the UK she was torpedoed by a U Boat and she broke in two. The bows sank almost immediately and the crew abandoned ship in to the life boats. After drifting for several days without being rescued the crew spotted the stern of the Imperial Transport was still afloat. They reboarded her and sailed her back to the UK, whilst they sailed back the original ship builders managed to rebuild a new bow section and was waiting for her!

Hopefully it will be finished this year ready for Ron's Open Day... ^^^
